Well Done, Charlie

The righteous man perishes,
    and no man lays it to heart;
and merciful men are taken away
    while no one understands,
for the righteous man is taken away
    from the evil to come.
He shall enter into peace;
    they shall rest in their beds,
    each one walking in his uprightness.

Isaiah 57:1–2

I never met Charlie Kirk. I have come to know him through his posts, his patience, his zeal for God, and his love for people. He wanted people to be believers and share in the glory of God.

And he’s taken out by the enemy just like that.

One might be inclined to think that what happened to him was tragic. And it is… Tragic for those left behind. This text shows the promise of the righteous. From a human perspective, it is senseless and purposeless. The enemy seems to have a momentary victory. He certainly wants to instill fear into people.

Charlie heard his Savior say, “Go.” He did, boldly! May we be the same…

He said to them, “Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved. But he who does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16:15–16

Mark 16:15–16

Well done, Charlie. God, let 1,000,000 more take his place.
