Like It or Not, You do Have a King!

There has been lots of controversy this year. One of the hashtags that goes along in the counter culture is #nokings.

Well, I am going to tell you… You do have a King. His name is Jesus. He came first in a lowly birth. He presented Himself on a donkey some 2,000 years ago entering Jerusalem. Kings ride donkeys when coming with peaceful tidings.

It is just like one hears at Christmastime; the refrain that is common…

“Let Earth receive her King!”

When Earth does receive her King, He won’t be coming on a donkey. He will be riding a horse. Kings go to war on horseback.

So what does that mean for you?

Jesus is your King. That truth just is. Of course, many have already believed in Him as King. Others have rejected Him.

This is the reality, that was recorded almost 2,000 years ago. People didn’t believe then, either. He explained it many times. Even telling them that the One they worship as God has the power of resurrection. And He is that God.

“Do not marvel at this. For the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come out—those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

John 5:28–29

There are two outcomes… The resurrection of life requires you to make a choice to believe. The resurrection of judgment is the default position of people who understand morality and their own failure to keep it.

As you fondly remember the time with family and friends celebrating your King’s birthday, think about where you are at in relation to Him. If it’s broken, you can fix it right where you are!
